That county Carlow be no longer grouped with Kilkenny as one constitutity as is presently the case and be a 3 seat for Dail Eireann . For far too long now Carlow town itself (should have one seat on its own merit as it has over 30,000 people resident in the town, and that Graiguecullen has its own TD as well as it too has over 20,000 people living there and then the county Carlow hinderlands have 1 elected TD making County Carlow a 3 seater. Could we also have a law that at least 40% of newly elected TD’S not only be based according to gender issues (i.e female/male ratio) but on age where-as 40% of candidates are to be aged under thirty five years to represent the ever growing younger population and their immediate concerns about their future in Ireland.
