Constituency
Limerick City, Limerick County
A chara,
To the Electoral Commission:
Firstly, can I wish you all the best in the establishment of the Electoral Commission recently.
Please find two brief comments on the Limerick City Constituency to the Constituency Review.
- The Limerick City Constituency should remain, at a minimum, a four-seater constituency
- In 2014 Limerick City and County were merged into a single local authority. As part of this merger a Metropolitan Council area was established. This area contains the East, West and North Wards of Limerick City and meets as 1 unit. The Limerick City Constituency, as a minimum should include the entirety of the Metropolitan area of Limerick within it. Therefore, I propose all areas which constitute the Metropolitan area of Limerick Council should be included in one Dáil constituency.
Thank you for your time and best wishes with this important work.
Is mise,
Maurice Quinlivan TD
