Irish Language – Official Languages Act 2003, Official Languages (Amendment) Act 2021

Since our establishment in February 2023 as a new independent public body, the provision of our content through Irish has been an integral part of our work at An Coimisiún Toghcháin.

The Official Languages Acts  2003  – 2021 aims to replace Irish language schemes with a new system of language standards. Until the new standards are in place, An Coimisiún continues to provide services to the Irish language speaking community in accordance with the Official Languages Acts, including the availability of Irish speakers to deal with queries, correspondence received in Irish responded to in Irish and website content is available in Irish.
